After eleven-plus year competing as a professional MMA fighter, UFC and PFL veteran Rick Story has announced his retirement from the sport.
A now retired Story issued the following statement via Twitter:
?It?s been a career with significant highs and lows, through the good and the bad times, my goals were what drove me and the fans were always my inspiration, for this I thank all of you. To my friends, family and others who have supported me along this journey, I thank you for always being there, and for showing me that there is more to life after fighting. It?s time for me to turn my own page. I look forward to what the future holds, and I cannot wait.?
Story began his professional MMA career in November of 2007, having picked up notable victories in the last decade-plus over Jake Ellenberger, Brian Foster, Johny Hendricks, Thiago Alves, Gunnar Nelson, Tarec Saffiedine and Yuri Villefort.
The fighter did make it to the PFL Season One Playoffs at Welterweight, but suffered a second round TKO loss to Handesson Ferreira at PFL 10. Story retires with a professional MMA record of 21-10-0, with twelve of those victories coming by way of decision.
