US Supreme Court Eliminated Ban On Sports Betting, UFC Comments

MMA

This past Monday, a decision was made by the United States Supreme Court to strike down a federal ban on sports betting. The move by the court will now allow all states to legalize and regulate gambling on all sporting events, including UFC events.

While a lot of the major sports organizations have come out against the decision by the US Supreme Court, support from the move has been shown by the UFC.

The UFC even issued the following statement to MMA Fighting:

“UFC supports legalized, regulated sports betting, as we have seen firsthand in Nevada the success of well-regulated gaming. We look forward to working with Congress and state legislatures to support policy that ensures the integrity of our sport and makes the best sense for our fans and our business.”

Nevada was previously the only state that allowed betting on individual fights in MMA or pro boxing, but other states will now have the ability to do the same thing.

Prior to the move made by the supreme court, states such as Nevada, Delaware, Montana and Oregon allowed sports betting, but now all states are going to be allowed to join in on the sports betting institution.
