Victor Ortiz has turned himself in to authorities in Oxnard, California.

According to a report from VC Star, Ortiz has been charged with three felony counts of sexual assault, including forcible rape, by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. Just before 3 p.m. PT on September 25, Ortiz turned himself in to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office East Valley station.

The report also states that Ventura County Superior Court records show a violation date for the sexual assault charges of March 19 and listed the Oxnard Police Department as the investigating agency. According to Oxnard police, the investigation into Ortiz was launched just before 1 p.m. on that date when a female victim contacted police regarding a sexual assault. Ortiz, whose bail was set at $100,000 and is eligible for state prison, was identified as a suspect on the date of the incident, said Oxnard police Cmdr. Sharon Giles.

Ortiz is currently scheduled to fight former world title challenger John Molina Jr. in the main event of the September 30 PBC on FS1 card in Ontario, California. Ortiz, a former welterweight world champion, has not fought since fighting Devon Alexander to a draw on a PBC on FOX card back in February.

There is no word on whether or not the fight will continue as scheduled. The card has already been affected as Fightful was told on September 25 that top prospect Karlos Balderas is off the card due to an illness.
