Alex Pereira delivered a knockout at LFA 95 that had people concerned for Thomas Powell's life.
Pereira (3-1) took on Powell (4-5) in the main event of LFA 95 on Friday. The GLORY kickboxing star landed a left hook that immediately separated Powell from consciousness. Powell froze up, face-planted and remained on the mat for minutes.
This is Alex Pereira KO. Very scary aftermath. His opponent, Thomas Powell, was out cold for approximately 5 minutes. Didn’t move. One of the scariest byproducts of a KO in recent memory. pic.twitter.com/1qdz8RwV5u— Ariel Helwani (@arielhelwani) November 21, 2020
Powell was unconscious for approximately five-minutes and LFA refrained from showing further footage of the finish or close-ups of Powell sleeping. He eventually opened his eyes and was able to sit on a stool. Powell was heard speaking with the medical team and could not remember that he was fighting. Fortunately, Powell was able to leave the cage on his own two feet.
