Vitor Belfort has not earned a win since he defeated Dan Henderson at UFC Fight Night: Belfort vs. Henderson III. In fact, he's riding a three fight losing streak, Despite that, the aging fighter is not ready to hang up the gloves just yet.
In response to the query’s about a potential retirement, Belfort posted the following on his Instagram page:
Shortly after the Instagram post was posted by Belfort, the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion was contacted by MMA Junkie about his future in the sport.
"I’m not retired. I want to fight again soon. I am driven to get back on my feet and honor the nickname I so proudly carry. ‘The Phenom’ is back. I am not pleased with my two last performances and changes are being made," Belfort said. "I don’t want to end my career the way it is right now. I want to look at the mirror and recognize myself as the fighter I always have been. I have 20 years in this sport, and I intend to honor that legacy,” said Belfort.
So for now, the “Phenom” will not be retiring, but his next move or fight in the UFC has not been announced at this time.
