Retired boxing great Floyd Mayweather says there is a 50% chance he could compete in a professional MMA fight by the end of the year.
Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Vitor Belfort isn?t very impressed by Mayweather and believes a teenager can beat him in an MMA bout.
?I think he doesn?t have a chance even against the young kids, 15, 14-year-olds. I don?t think he has a chance, no,? Belfort said during a media scrum in Brazil. ?He has a lot to learn on the ground, kicks. I think it?s an illusion (to say) that happens, unless it?s different rules or a fight in his world. With his arms, on his weight, he?s a phenom. Now, involving legs and other things, no chance.?
Belfort is potentially retiring after his bout against former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida at UFC 224, so an MMA bout against Mayweather is highly unlikely at this point.
Although an MMA bout seems unlikely, one thing Belfort wouldn?t mind doing is a boxing match against Mayweather.
?Isn?t he the champion, undefeated?? said Belfort. ?We (can) fight Mayweather. I?ll wear bigger gloves, he (wears) a small one.?
