WBA To Stream World Title Fights From China On May 26

The WBA has announced that it will stream a couple of title fights from China this weekend.

On May 26, the WBA will stream a card from Fuzhou, China on its website that will be headlined by Chinese star Can Xu. Xu will defend his WBA "Regular" featherweight title for the first time against former super bantamweight champion Shun Kubo.

Xu won the title back in January in Texas on a DAZN card when he won a 12-round decision against Jesus Rojas. After losing his third and fifth pro bout, Xu has won his last 13 fights. Kubo was once the WBA "Regular" champion at 122 pounds, but ever since he lost the belt to Daniel Roman, Kubo has fought just once at featherweight. Kubo is coming off a win over Hiroshige Osawa back on April 28.

Also being streamed on the governing body's website is a WBA "Regular" light flyweight title bout between Carlos Canizales and Sho Kimura. Canizales has held the title since beating Reiya Konishi last year and hasn't fought since defending his title against Bin Lu last July. Kimura, a former WBO flyweight world champion, will be dropping down in weight in an attempt to become a two-division champion.

The WBA has been in the streaming game for a short amount of time, broadcasting cards from Colombia and Panama in recent months. The governing body has been looking to give boxing fans all over the world easy access to events previously unavailable to watch live, but this will be the first time a world title fight would be streamed on the WBA's website.
