Another mandatory challenger for the WBO super middleweight title could be determined next February.
Hungarian boxing company Felix-Promotion won a purse bid for a WBO title eliminator at 168 pounds between Shefat Isufi and Vincent Feigenbutz. The bout will take place in February 22 in Budapest, Hungary.
Isufi, a 28-year-old from Munich, Germany, is currently riding a 10-fight win streak, having not lost a fight in more than three years. Isufi has won several regional titles, including the PABA light heavyweight and IBF East/West Europe light heavyweight titles. Isufi started his career out as a cruiserweight, but dropped all the way down to super middleweight last year, winning the WBO Intercontinental title. Isufi is the No. 2 ranked super middleweight by the WBO.
Feigenbutz, a former interim WBA super middleweight champion, is also in the middle of a lengthy win streak. Feigenbutz has won all eight of his fights since unsuccessfully challenging for the WBA super middleweight title in 2016 when he got stopped in the 11th round by Giovanni De Carolis. Feigenbutz is the No. 3 super middleweight in the WBO rankings and is also ranked No. 3 in the WBA and IBF rankings as well.
Gilberto Ramirez, the current WBO world champion at 168 pounds, is set to defend his title in a rematch against Jesse Hart in the main event of an ESPN+ card in Texas on December 14. Ramirez has held the WBO title since 2016, becoming the first Mexican boxer to win a major super middleweight world title.
