The Cage Warriors Welterweight Title is going to be on the line in the main event of Cage Warriors 98 as Stefano Paterno defends the gold against Ross Houston.
Paterno (12-2-1) is going to be making the first defense of his championship, which the fighter won by defeating Mehrdad Janzemini at Cage Warriors 95. Paterno does enter the contest on the strength of a seven fight winning streak, which includes wins over UFC veterans John Maguire and Cody McKenzie. Paterno has suffered two defeats as a professional MMA fighter and both of those losses came by way of decision.
Houston (7-0-0) has already picked up five victories under the Cage Warriors banner and his undefeated streak has lasted over two years. Houston has earned seven wins thus far as a professional MMA fighter, but none of those victories have come by KO/TKO. Houston also competed four times as an amateur MMA fighter and all of those bouts ended by way of decision.
