Fabricio Werdum was looking forward to fighting Ben Rothwell at UFC 203, but an injury knocked Rothwell out of the fight and put Travis Browne into it. Werdum is already familiar with Browne, whom he defeated by unanimous decision two years ago at UFC On Fox 11.
However, unlike the first encounter between the two, Werdum seems intent to “break the face” of his opponent which is something he uttered to his corner men prior to the UFC 203 Pre-Fight Press Conference.
Then things got more heated when the two came face to face at the conclusion at the same press conference, which is where Werdum told his opponent during their staredown…
"I will break your face, bastard... I'll break your rib, clown. You know I will break you. You know I will break you. You know that."
Werdum is looking to rebound in a big way after losing his UFC Heavyweight Title via first round knockout to Stipe Miocic at UFC 198, the loss came in his home country of Brazil. As for Browne, the heavyweight fighter is looking to get a little consistent in the UFC, having rotated wins and losses in his last six UFC bouts, his last fight was a loss to former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez at UFC 200.
UFC 203 will be taking place on Saturday, September 10th from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio with Stipe Miocic defending the heavyweight title against Alistair Overeem in the main event.
