Women’s Action Added To Bellator 182

A women’s featherweight division attraction is the latest addition to the Bellator 182 card as Sinead Kavanagh steps into the cage against Arlene Blencowe.

Kavanagh (4-1-0) has won just one of two fights under the Bellator MMA banner, defeating Elina Kallionidou and suffering a defeat to Iony Razafiarison. Kavanagh spent the other three fights of her professional MMA career in the BAMMA promotion, winning three of three fights there. Kavanagh is also going to be making her North American MMA debut in this fight, as all of her previous fights have come within the United Kingdom.

Blencowe (9-6-0) has won two of four fights in Bellator MMA, those two wins came over the duo of Adrienna Jenkins and Gabrielle Holloway. Blencowe is going to be competing for the third time in 2017. Those two wins came outside of Bellator MMA competition as she defeated Janay Harding and Rhiannon Thompson. Blencowe’s two losses in Bellator MMA came to Julia Budd and Marloes Coenen, who competed to become the first ever Bellator MMA Women’s Featherweight Champion.

Bellator 182 takes place on Friday, August 25 from the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York with Andrey Koreshkov and Chidi Njokuani headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Spike TV.
