Women’s Flyweight Title Fight Headlines LFA 51

The Legacy Fighting Alliance Women’s Flyweight Title is going to be defended in the main event of LFA 51 as Sabina Mazo is defending the gold against Jaimelene Nievera.

Mazo (5-0-0) is going to be making the first defense of her title, which was won by defeating Shannon Sinn by unanimous decision at LFA 37. Mazo has picked up two professional MMA victories by knockout and both of those finishes were delivered via head kick. Mazo made her professional MMA debut in March of 2015, defeating Bellator MMA veteran Alejandra Lara by unanimous decision.

Nievera (7-4-0) is currently undefeated under the LFA banner, having defeated Katy Collins by unanimous decision at LFA 42. Nievera also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 11, suffering a second round TKO loss to Antonina Shevchenko. Nievera also won two of three in Bellator MMA, with those victories coming over the duo of Stephanie Frausto and Corina Herrera.

Legacy Fighting Alliance 51 takes place on Friday, September 28 from the Selland Arena in Fresno, California with Sabina Mazo and Jaimelene Nievera headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on AXS TV.
