Yancy Medeiros And Justin Jaynes Cut By UFC

The UFC has decided to part ways with lightweight Yancy Medeiros and featherweight Justin Jaynes.

UFC officials confirmed the news with MMA Fighting's Damon Martin and Guilherme Cruz. Medeiros was a five-time bonus winner during his Octagon run, while also winning ESPN's Fight of the Year award in 2017 for his bout with Alex Oliveira at UFC 218. He competed at 155 and 170 pounds for the promotion going 6-8-1 in 15 appearances and fighting the likes of Dustin Poirier, Donald Cerrone, Jim Miller, Yves Edwards, Gregor Gillespie, Lando Vannata, and John Makdessi. Medeiros is currently on a four-fight losing streak and dropped his last fight in the UFC to Damir Hadzovic, losing via a unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 30.

Jaynes on the other hand had a much briefer stint with the promotion, going 1-4 in his five Octagon outings. He competed at 145 and 155 pounds for the UFC, dropping his last fight via a split decision to Charles Rosa at UFC Vegas 30.
