Nate Diaz Wants $20-30 Million To Fight Conor McGregor, Per Coach

Conor McGregor will earn possibly nine figures with a $30 million guarantee, and his biggest PPV fight back in the UFC would be a trilogy with Nate Diaz, but a Diaz bout won't come cheap.

As we speculated on this week's Holy Smokes MMA Podcast, Nate Diaz is looking for a giant sum of money to step back into the cage. According to a statement obtained by MMA Fighting, it's about ten times more than he was guaranteed at UFC 202.

“At least $20 million, $30 million. Come on. UFC’s making a whole lot of money, a whole lot of money and they’re pocketing it. They’re giving more to McGregor, so it’s not fair because it takes two in that ring to draw a crowd – I mean, a good two fighters. It’s just like Mayweather when he fought Berto. It was not even sold out at all. It was embarrassing. It’s because that guy couldn’t draw a crowd. See, that’s what I’m saying, it’s the fighters that draw the crowd, and Nathan and McGregor, third one would be outstanding. Everyone knows that. So he needs to get paid at least $30 million easy.”

As of now, the UFC holds a giant share of revenue compared to their fighters. The company earns millions even at a buyrate of 115,000, so a giant PPV seller like Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor runs the profits into the tens of millions.

Diaz hasn't fought since his UFC 202 loss to McGregor. Saturday after his fight with Mayweather, McGregor said he'd love to fight Diaz again, but at 155 pounds for the UFC Lightweight Championship.
