Nia Jax Explains Why Her Weight Is Announced: "I'm A Heavy Ass Chick"

Nia Jax says she is a "heavy ass chick."

Even in her entrance music, Nia Jax has been branded by WWE as being "not like most girls." In a recent interview on Talk is Jericho, Jax talked about something specific that sets her apart from the rest of the roster. She is the largest woman in WWE's women's division and she is the only one whose weight is announced on her way to the ring. Jax said she was shocked at first when she found out WWE would be announcing her weight.

"They were announcing my weight before matches and I was like 'oh gosh'. I know I am big but knowing my weight is another story. I'm a heavy ass chick," said Jax.

Jax said she called The Rock about WWE announcing her weight and he was able to put her mind at ease. According to Jax, a producer of NXT and Johnny Ace came to her to explain the reasoning for announcing her weight.

"I guess it's more of showing people 'she's this weight and can move,'" said Jax. "I'm literally almost three hundred pounds. I'm heavy and outweighing some of the guys. I'm a heavy girl. And (Johnny Ace) was like 'yeah, but it's almost three hundred pounds, you're beautiful, you're athletic' and I'm like 'ok...ok,'" she continued.

Jax revealed her announced weight is accurate to her actual weight. She then said she is not sure if every male wrestler in WWE have their weights announced.

In the rest of the interview, Jax discussed how The Rock has impacted her career, the advice she received from Vince McMahon, and transitioning from NXT to the main roster
