NJPW Announces New Title, Champion To Be Crowned In Long Beach

New Japan Pro Wrestling is looking to make a splash in the United States, and they're taking steps to do it.

Ahead of Friday's NJPW/ROH War of the Worlds pay-per-view, the company announced that they've created a United States Championship. The title will be determined in a tournament to take place July 1-2 in Long Beach, California.

Jay Lethal was the first announced entrant to the tournament. This makes 8 championships in total for  New Japan Pro Wrestling.
