Match By Match Recap

Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, Taichi & El Desparado) vs. Katsuya Kitamura, Tomoyuki Oka & Hirai Kawato

The match begins with Suzuki-Gun being jumped by their opponents before the bell rings, Suzuki takes Oka out of the ring and throws him into the barricade. Suzuki grabs chairs and he attacks Oka with them, Desparado grabs Kitamura and he throws him into the barricade as well. Suzuki and Oka battle into the ring as Suzuki attacks him with strikes, Suzuki clobbers Oka with some elbow strikes. Oka tries fighting back and Suzuki chops him right back, Oka eventually drops a swinging Suzuki with a shoulder tackle. Kitamura tags in and he nails Suzuki with a running back elbow strike followed by a spear, Suzuki gets up and he clobbers Kitamura with strikes.

Kitamura recovers and he drops Suzuki with a suplex, Kawato tags in and Suzuki gets triple teamed by the opposition. Kawato would then catch Suzuki with a springboard drop kick for a near fall, Suzuki gets back up and he destroys Kawato with forearm strikes. Desparado tags in and he gets a near fall on a downed Kawato, Desparado hits Kawato with the Angel’s Wings for the three count.

Winners: Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, Taichi & El Desparado)

Guerrillas Of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa) vs. Los Ingobernables (Bushi & Sanada)

The match begins with Tama and Sanada going through a series of reversals with nobody getting an edge, Tama traps Sanada in the corner and mauls him with strikes. Loa tags in and he double teams Sanada alongside Tama, Loa picks up Sanada and he smashes him into the corner multiple times. Loa follows that up by nailing Sanada with a delayed back suplex for a near fall, Sanada uses the referee to distract Loa before catching him with a drop kick. Bushi tags in and he immediately cleans house on the opposing team, Bushi then cracks him opponents with a double missile drop kick.

Loa rolls out of the ring and Bushi nails him with a suicide dive, Sanada locks Tama in a Paradise Lock before teaming with Bushi to nail him with a double drop kick. Bushi then eats a clothesline from an angry Loa, Tama and Loa hit Bushi with Guerrilla Warfare for the near fall. Tama then hits Bushi with the Gun Stun for the three count.

Winners: Guerrillas Of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa)

Juice Robinson & Satoshi Kojima vs. Los Ingobernables (Hiromu Takahashi & Evil)

The match begins with Takahashi attacking Kojima from behind so Evil can get the advantage, Kojima recovers and takes out both of his opponents. Robinson hits the ring and he double teams Evil with Kojima, Kojima then attacks both opponents with machine gun chops. Takahashi and Robinson brawl on the arena floor and Evil throws Kojima into a barricade on the other side of the ring, Takahashi tags in and works over Kojima inside of the ring. Takahashi then cracks a downed Kojima with a running drop kick, Evil tags back in and he drops Kojima with chops before landing a senton bomb.

Evil uses the referee to distract Kojima before nailing him with a super kick, Kojima recover and he catches Evil with a Koji Cutter. Takahashi and Robinson get the tags from their respective partners, Takahashi quickly nails Robinson with a dragon screw leg whip. Robinson recovers and he nails Takahashi with a big left followed by a power bomb for a near fall, Evil hits the ring and Kojima nails him with a DDT. Robinson crushes Takahashi with a lariat followed by Pulp Friction for a three count.

Winners: Juice Robinson & Satoshi Kojima

Richochet, Ryusuke Taguchi, Michael Elgin & War Machine (Raymond Rowe & Hanson) vs. Bullet Club (Nick Jackson, Matt Jackson, Chase Owens, Hangman Page & Cody)

The match begins with Nick kicking Richochet in the midsection before applying a headlock, Richochet gets free and he drops Nick with a shoulder tackle. Richochet rocks Nick with a few holds before clobbering him with a drop kick, Richochet fakes a dive and Matt throws him out of the ring before faking a dive as well. Matt is then attacked by all five members of the opposing team by eating a plethora of running clotheslines, Bullet Club recovers and they take out everybody but Taguchi. Taguchi is eventually attacked by all five members of the opposing team, Elgin is then hit by a drop kick from the Young Bucks. Bullet Club then takes out all the members of the opposing team with suicide dives, Owens tags in and he works over Taguchi.

Taguchi goes for a hip attack and Owens catches him with an atomic drop, Owens would then catch Taguchi with some hip attacks. Taguchi nails Owens with a hip attack of his own before tagging Rowe in, Rowe quickly lays out members of the opposing team. The Bucks try attacking Rowe and Rowe takes them out before tagging Hanson in, Hanson catches Bucks with clotheslines until Page hits the ring and takes him out. Members of both teams take turns taking the others out, Cody distracts the referee before kicking Rowe in the balls Rowe recovers and he nails Cody with a knee strike, Richochet then takes out Bullet Club with a suicide dive. Elgin returns and he takes out Bullet Club with his own suicide dive, Hanson looks for a dive and he is stopped on the top rope.

Cody and Page nail Hanson with a top rope double suplex, Bullet Club then attack Hanson with a series of strikes in the ring. Cody misses a moonsault and he misses, Page attacks Hanson with a few strikes and misses a moonsault as well. Everybody from Bullet Club attempts moonsaults and Hanson avoids them all, Hanson catches Owens with a moonsault for a near fall. Richochet takes out members of the opposing team with a suicide dive, Elgin gets the tag and he clobbers Owens with a forearm strike. Elgin crushes Owens with a buckle bomb followed by the Elgin Bomb for the three count.

Winners: Richochet, Ryusuke Taguchi, Michael Elgin & War Machine (Raymond Rowe & Hanson)

Chaos (Kazuchika Okada & Toru Yano) vs. Bullet Club (Kenny Omega & Yujiro Takahashi)

The match begins with Takahashi jumping Yano just as the bell rings, Yano goes for a headlock and Takahashi bites his hand. Takahashi would then toss Yano to the arena floor, Omega attacks Yano on the arena floor while Takahashi attacks Okada with a chair. Takahashi goes back to work on Yano when Yano is thrown back into the ring, Takahashi drops Yano before landing a running leg drop. Omega tags in and he catches Yano with a springboard axe handle drop for a near fall, Omega also catches Yano with a few strikes for another near fall. Yano shoves Omega to the ground before tagging Okada in, Okada immediately attacks Omega with a few back elbow strikes.

Okada then catches Omega with a forearm strike after a DDT, Omega realizes Okada’s neck is hurt and he nails him with a cross legged neck breaker for a near fall. Takahashi tags in and he attacks Okada with some forearm strikes, Okada recovers and he nails Takahashi with a flapjack. Yano tags back in and he immediately removes the turnbuckle pad, Takahashi stops him by catching him with a fisherman buster suplex. Omega attacks Okada on the arena floor and he throws Okada into the barricade, Yano catches Takahashi with a roll up out of nowhere for the three count.

Winners: Chaos (Kazuchika Okada & Toru Yano)

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Yuji Nagata vs. Bad Luck Fale

The match begins with Nagata nailing Fale with a running boot to the face, Nagata would then assault Fale with a series of strikes. Fale recovers and he throws Nagata out of the ring, Nagata gets back in the ring and he kicks Fale back to the arena floor. Nagata attacks Fale with more strikes until Fale throws him into the barricade, Fale then locks Nagata in a sleeper hold on the arena floor. Fale releases the sleeper hold before throwing him back into the barricade, Fale gets back into the ring and he stands on Nagata as Nagata gets back in the ring. Fale nails Nagata with a few strikes to get a near fall, Fale traps Nagata in the corner before choking him with his foot.

Nagata recovers and he kicks a charging Fale in his leg, Nagata follows Fale around the ring while attacking him with a plethora of leg kicks. Nagata follows that up by nailing Fale with a drop kick to the injured leg, Fale recovers to drop Nagata and nail him with a splash for a near fall. Nagata recovers and he attacks Fale with more kicks followed by an exploder suplex for a near fall, Fale gets to a knee and Nagata nails him with a plethora of kicks. Fale catches a kick from Nagata and he strikes him in the leg, Nagata and Fale have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Fale eventually drops Nagata with a clothesline for a near fall, Fale goes for the Grenade and Nagata counters with a Nagata Lock. Nagata then transitions into an arm bar before locking Fale in the ankle lock, Nagata transitions into another submission and Fale gets to the ropes.

Nagata then catches a cornered Fale with a running knee strike followed by a back drop suplex for a near fall, Nagata follows that up by catching Fale with some kicks to the head. Fale recovers and catches a charging Nagata with a spear for a near fall, Fale then hits Nagata with a Samoan drop for another near fall. Fale nails a charging Nagata with a clothesline followed by a Bad Luck Fall for the three count.

Winner: Bad Luck Fale

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Togi Makabe vs. Yoshi-Hashi

The match begins with Yoshi-Hashi attacking Makabe with some chops, Makabe and Yoshi-Hashi exchange shoulder tackles until Yoshi-Hashi goes down. Makabe traps Yoshi-Hashi in the corner before mauling him with strikes, Yoshi-Hashi catches Makabe with a drop kick to the leg before landing a rolling neck breaker. Yoshi-Hashi traps Makabein the corner before landing a running chop, Yoshi-Hashi places Makabe on the top rope before landing a drop kick. Yoshi-Hashi catches Makabe with a blockbuster for a near fall, Makabe recovers and he nails a charging Yoshi-Hashi with a power slam.

Makabe traps Yoshi-Hashi in the corner before landing a clothesline followed by a series of punches, Makabe nails Yoshi-Hashi with a northern lights suplex for a near fall. Yoshi-Hashi tries recovering and Makabe drops him with a clothesline, Makabe mounts Yoshi-Hashi in the corner and Yoshi-Hashi catches him with a power bomb. Makabe recovers and drops Yoshi-Hashi with an axe handle smash, Makabe goes for the King Kong Knee Drop and Yoshi-Hashi gets out of the way. Yoshi-Hashi would then catch Makabe with a strike to the back of the neck, Yoshi-Hashi follows that up by nailing Makabe with a western lariat.

Yoshi-Hashi would then lock Makabe in the butterfly lock and Makabe eventually gets to the ropes to break the submission, Yoshi-Hashi keeps the pressure on Makabe by nailing him with a back cracker. Yoshi-Hashi goes for Kharma before just dropping Makabe with a chop, Makabe recovers and he nails Yoshi-Hashi with a fall away slam. Yoshi-Hashi and Makabe exchange clotheslines until Yoshi-Hashi goes down, Makabe catches Yoshi-Hashi with another clothesline before putting him on the top rope. Makabe smashes Yoshi-Hashi’s head on the ring post before catching him with a spider German suplex, Makabe hits Yoshi-Hashi with a King Kong Knee Drop for the three count.

Winner: Togi Makabe

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Tomohiro Ishii vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

The match begins with Sabre Jr and Ishii doing some chain wrestling, Sabre Jr and Ishii have a striking exchange until Sabre Jr goes down. Ishii downs Sabre Jr while mauling him with a series of chops, Sabre Jr recovers and he nails the arm of Ishii with a pele kick. Sabre Jr starts going to work on the injured arm of Ishii, Sabre Jr also starts bending the arm of Ishii in some unnatural ways. Ishii quickly recovers and he nails Sabre Jr with a belly to back suplex, Ishii traps Sabre Jr in the corner before assaulting him with a series of chops. Sabre Jr recovers and he catches Ishii in a rolling arm bar, Sabre Jr transitions into another variation of an arm bar until Ishii gets to the ropes.

Ishii gets to a knee as Sabre Jr attacks him with a plethora of kicks, Sabre Jr then attacks Ishii with a drop kick to the injured knee. Sabre Jr goes for a guillotine choke and Ishii catches him with a release northern lights suplex, Ishii then hits Sabre Jr with a top rope avalanche suplex for a near fall. Sabre Jr goes for another guillotine choke and Ishii drops him on the top rope before landing a release German suplex, Ishii then catches Sabre Jr with a power bomb. Sabre Jr quickly applies the triangle choke to Ishii after eating a power bomb, Sabre Jr follows that up with a butterfly suplex followed by a penalty kick for a near fall.

Sabre Jr applies the knee bar to Ishii and Ishii gets to the ropes to break the hold, Sabre Jr traps Ishii in the corner while continuing to attack his injured knee. Ishii gets angry and he drops Sabre Jr with a single strike, Sabre Jr catches Ishii in a roll up before applying an ankle lock. Ishii escapes to apply the ankle lock to Sabre Jr, Ishii releases the ankle lock to nail Sabre Jr with a headbutt into a clothesline for a near fall. Ishii drills Sabre Jr before attempting a sliding lariat, Sabre Jr catches Ishii with a myriad of submissions until Ishii passes out and the referee stops the match.

Winner: Zack Sabre Jr.

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Kota Ibushi vs. Hirooki Goto

The match begins with Goto drop Ibushi after a brief striking exchange, Ibushi gets up and he drops a charging Goto with a kick. Ibushi looks for the Golden Triangle and Goto knocks him to the arena floor, Goto goes outside as well before throwing Ibushi into the barricade. Goto brings Ibushi back into the ring before landing a suplex for a near fall, Ibushi and Goto have another striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Goto backs Ibushi into the corner before landing a running clothesline, Ibushi recovers and he drops a charging Goto again.

Ibushi goes right into attacking a downed Goto with a series of kicks, Ibushi drops Goto with his strikes before landing a standing moonsault for a near fall. Ibushi and Goto have a forearm strike exchange in the middle of the ring, Ibushi catches a swinging Goto with a release German suplex. Goto pops right back up and he clobbers Ibushi with a lariat, Goto traps Ibushi in the corner before nailing him with a spinning heel kick to the face. Goto places Ibushi on the top rope and he follows him up there, Ibushi escapes from the top rope and he nails Goto with a flip kick to the back. Ibushi goes back to the top rope with Goto and Goto knocks him off, Ibushi returns and he nails Goto with a top rope hurricarana for a near fall.

Goto then catches a charging Ibushi with a modified back breaker for a near fall, Goto looks for the GTR before applying the sleeper hold to Ibushi. Goto releases the sleeper hold before nailing Ibushi with a penalty kick, Ibushi catches Goto with a roll up before landing a super kick. Goto recovers and hits Ibushi with a headbutt followed by two GTR’s for the three count.

Winner: Hirooki Goto

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tetsuya Naito

The match begins with Tanahashi nailing Naito with a few slaps to the face, Tanahashi then drops Naito with a shoulder tackle. Naito eventually knocks Tanahashi out of the ring before striking his signature pose, Tanahashi returns and attacks Naito from behind. Tanahashi traps Naito in the corner before assaulting him with forearm strikes, Naito recovers and he drop kicks Tanahashi in his injured arm. Naito catches a downed Tanahashi with a follow up drop kick to the injured arm, Naito traps the arm of Tanahashi in the ropes while wrenching away on it.

Naito continues attacking the injured arm of Tanahashi with more drop kicks, Tanahashi and Naito go through a series of reversals until Tanahashi catches him with a neck breaker. Tanahashi then hits Naito with a flying forearm strike followed by a somersault senton for a near fall, Naito recovers by catching Tanahashi with another drop kick to his injured arm. Naito goes for a slingshot drop kick and Tanahashi catches him with a dragon screw leg whip that knocks him to the arena floor, Tanahashi catches Naito with a high fly flow on the arena floor. Tanahashi waits for Naito to get back in the ring before landing another dragon screw leg whip, Tanahashi looks for another dragon screw leg whip and Naito instead drops him arm first on the top rope.

Naito then hits the injured arm of Tanahashi with a slingshot drop kick, Naito follows that up by catching Tanahashi with a rope assisted back breaker. Naito keeps the momentum going by nailing Tanahashi with a flying forearm strike followed by a side slam for a near fall, Tanahashi recovers and he hits Naito with a straight jacket suplex for a near fall. Naito places Tanahashi on the top rope and he catches him with a top rope hurricarana, Tanahashi counters into a roll up followed by a dragon screw leg whip. Tanahashi and Naito have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Naito then catches Tanahashi with a German suplex for a near fall.

Tanahashi recovers after eating more strikes to catch Naito with a few sling blades for a near fall, Tanahashi catches Naito with a High Fly Flow. Naito avoids the second High Fly Flow and both competitors are down, Naito gets Tanahashi on the top rope before catching him with a knee strike followed by a rope assisted neck breaker. Naito goes to the middle rope and Tanahashi takes him down with another dragon screw leg whip, Tanahashi locks Naito in the Texas cloverleaf and Naito gets to the ropes after a long struggle. Tanahashi looks for a hold and Naito attacks him with strikes to his injured arm, Naito then hits Tanahashi with a satellite DDT.

Naito followed that up by nailing Tanahashi with a reverse tornado DDT for a near fall, Naito goes for Destino and Tanahashi counters with a series of spinning neck breakers. Naito recovers to hit Tanahashi with a pair of Destino’s for the three count.
