Ovince St. Preux ended a three fight losing streak at UFC Fight Night 108 after defeating Marcos Rogerio De Lima by second round submission with a rare Von Flue Choke.

Prior to the fight in his home state of Tennessee, the victorious OSP made several big lifestyle changes.

“It’s kind of crazy how you can have all the gifts in the world, but if you’re not mentally there, you’re going to have a lot of problems,” Saint Preux said after the event. “I think a lot of my past fights, I thought I had it figured out. If you want to end up being in the top five, you have to make it a lifestyle. If you’re in the top 10, top 15, you can kind of get away with that. But once you’re in the top five, that margin of error is very slim. The only way you can actually succeed within that realm is to make it a lifestyle. That’s what I did. I definitely pulled off a good submission tonight – I don’t know why I didn’t get a bonus, but that’s OK. (It’s) just an everyday lifestyle – the way you mentally prepare yourself. All the greats have something they do in order to put themselves in that mode to make themselves that much better.”

OSP is now looking to get back into title contention, as he has previously challenged for the UFC Interim Light Heavyweight Title.

The fighter felt he owed his home state fans after coming up winless in his last visit to Tennessee.

“It feels good to actually win in the state of Tennessee – I think I owed them from last time,” Saint Preux said. “It definitely feels good to get back on the winning track.”

For OSP, the win over De Lima was the first time the fighter earned a victory since defeating Rafael Cavalcante in February 2016.
