A backstage source told Fightful Select that the Batista/Flair segment was supposed to last longer and be more drawn out, but the show was up against the clock. We’re told that Vince McMahon was very happy with how the segment came off. 

The story was played very close to the vest. It wasn’t a secret that Batista was at the show, but the nature of his involvement was.
