Saturday news and notes
Hey guys, thought I’d throw in some news bits here that don’t necessarily fit anywhere else.
– It’s no surprise, but I was told that the Jimmy Uso/Naomi “trying to get fired” story was false by several within WWE.
– Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert & Andrew Thompson are tentatively planning a podcast. We don’t have specifics yet, but that’s one to keep your eye on.
– WWE is rehearsing their Elimination Chamber matches in Houston tonight around 10 PM EST.
– I should reiterate: Cris Cyborg has not been in negotiations with WWE. She has not trained at the Performance Center. Several within WWE have confirmed to me that they have no plans to work with her as of now. They also suspect Cyborg’s management of planting the story of “Rousey refusing to re-sign with WWE is Cyborg is brought in.”
– I conducted a 45 minute interview yesterday with Anthony Bowens for my next longform article. If you’re unfamiliar with Anthony, he’s a Youtube star/pro wrestler who has appeared in commercials, for Impact Wrestling, and is perhaps best remembered for being the guy who got knocked out from Authors Of Pain’s Super Collider a couple of years back.
– We will be filming Retro Reviews for WWE Money in the Bank 2011 and the first Monday Nitro in the coming weeks for release this year. WrestleMania 3 & 20 are upcoming releases
