There is no doubt about it that one of the most intriguing fights taking place this Saturday Night at UFC 203 is the professional MMA debut and UFC debut of professional wrestler turned MMA fighter CM Punk (Real Name: Phil Brooks).

While a lot of folks within the MMA community have given their opinions on what Punk is attempting to accomplish, there has been one fighter who has kept his mouth closed…until now and that man is Alistair Overeem, who will be challenging Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight Title at UFC 203.

Overeem recently sat down with the folks at Champions.co to talk about all things CM Punk, Overeem first gave his thoughts on what he thinks Punk will be doing when he enters the octagon…

“Either he’s going to lose and quit, or he’s going to win, and he’s going to lose later on and quit. How good can you become in two years?”

Overeem then discussed whether or not it is a good thing for the sport to have these kinds of fights…

“You need to have these show fights to boost the sport. Brock came from the WWE. I think it was great for the sport. The same for CM Punk; he’s getting all the attention. But I think it’s not going to be in his favor, because his division, that’s a very hard division. To me, he’s making a mistake. He doesn’t know what he’s getting himself into.”

Overeem finished things off by giving his prediction for the bout between CM Punk and Mickey Gall…

“I am, at the same time, hoping for the upset, because we all love upsets. At the end of the day, we are going to find out what CM Punk is made of.”

Alistair Overeem will be challenging Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight Title on Saturday, September 10th at UFC 203, which takes place at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
