Randy Couture Says Jon Jones Has The Tools To Beat Brock Lesnar

MMA

Jon Jones reclaimed the title he never lost when he defeated Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 214 to again become the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.

The new champion has started calling out former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar for a proposed super fight.

According to former two division UFC champion and UFC Hall Of Fame member Randy Couture, the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion has the tools to defeat Lesnar.

"He can compete with Lesnar,” Couture told TMZ Sports“He's long, rangy, a great wrestler, very dynamic striking. He's got all the tools he needs to compete with Lesnar. He's got to get some very big partners and get used to it. Worst-case scenario, he gets knocked down and Lesnar gets on top of him. He's got to be able to survive that. So we'll see."

Couture has fought Lesnar before, as the WWE star defeated Couture by second round TKO at UFC 91 to become the UFC Heavyweight Champion.

There would be a delay if the potential super fight between Jones and Lesnar were to come together, with that delay being that Lesnar is currently serving a one years suspension from USADA. If Lesnar does make his return to the Octagon down the line, it would be the first time he competed since a bout with Mark Hunt at UFC 200.
