Randy Orton Cleared For Action, Returns To Wrestling Full Matches

For the first time since WWE Summerslam, Randy Orton actually wrestled a match.

At Summerslam, Orton suffered a laceration from Brock Lesnar's elbow. The match ended abruptly after Orton was examined by WWE officials and medical staff, deeming him unable to compete. The audience was not given much explanation besides images of Orton's stapled head. Since that match, Orton has not appeared in a televised match. He was technically in a tag match at a live event in Fairfax, Virginia, but reportedly only got into the ring to perform a RKO.

Saturday night, Orton worked a full match against Bray Wyatt at a live event in Springfield, Missouri. According to many, Orton worked a very conservative style. Orton was scheduled to face Bray Wyatt at WWE Backlash but a storyline injured leg took him out of the match, to cover up his concussion issues.. Kane would replace Orton in the match, but a limping Orton would show up to assist Kane in winning the no disqualification match.

The odd ending to his Summerslam match against Lesnar sparked controversy because the audience did not know if the match went as WWE had wanted. Rumors about Orton's health began to swirl after Summerslam. He had only been seen performing his finisher so many speculated he had a concussion.

Orton is a member of the Smackdown Live roster, but there is no word on when the audience will see Randy Orton in a televised match again. Fightful.com has live coverage of Smackdown Live, with a live podcast following the show.
