Diakiese (12-1-0) is looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat and that came to Drakkar Klose at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale. Diakiese had defeated the trio of Lukasz Sajewski, Frankie Perez and Teemu Packalen prior to that defeat. Diakiese also competed in the BAMMA promotion before signing with the UFC and he won all five fights he fought in BAMMA.

Hooker (14-7-0) has rotated wins and losses in his three-plus year run with the UFC, but his last bout was a win over Ross Pearson at UFC Fight Night Auckland. Hooker has lost three of the seven fights he competed at in the UFC and all three of his losses came by way of decision. Hooker has only earned one career victory by decision and the rest of his pro MMA wins came by submission or KO/TKO.

UFC 219 takes place on Saturday, December 30 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
