Report: TJ Dillashaw No Longer Wants To Fight Mighty Mouse

MMA

Former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw has seen his career in a sort of limbo after his title shot against current champion Cody Garbrandt at UFC 213 was canceled.

However, there was a potential light at the end of the tunnel when UFC President Dana White started pushing for a fight between Dillashaw and UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson.

Dillashaw did his part to try and get the fight together, including the addition of a clause in his contract stating he would give up his fight purse if he couldn’t make the weight limit.

The flyweight champion didn’t budge and refused to defend his championship against Dillashaw, which also raised the ire of both Dillashaw and the UFC President.

For Dillashaw, the focus may have shifted back from a flyweight title shot to a bantamweight title shot, this is according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN.

Garbrandt originally pulled out of UFC 213 due to a back injury and there is no timetable for when he is expected to return to action.

As far as the UFC Flyweight Champion goes, besides taking out his frustrations on the UFC, the champ seems most interested in fighting Ray Borg next.
