Report: WWE Nixed Emmalina Because Emma Wasn't Committed To Role

After 17 weeks of vignettes, we saw the re-debut of Emmalina on Raw....who apparently is going right back to being simply "Emma."

According to a report from Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, WWE had plans for Emmalina to draw comparisons to Sable, The Kat and Sunny, but kept pushing the debut back because officials thought she wasn't committed enough for the gimmick. The decision was apparently made to simply allow Emma to resume her previous gimmick.

PWS stated that producers in WWE liked the concept of the character, despite the shortcomings of Emma portraying it.

The Australian-born superstar had been off WWE TV since early May, but had wrestled on house shows in October and December as she prepared to make her return. 

Emma showed up on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw and said we'd witnessed the makeover from Emma to Emmalina, and now we'd see the makeover from Emmalina to Emma.
