Ric Flair Doesn't Think John Cena Will Break His World Title Record

Ric Flair’s world title record is in jeopardy of being broken, but the “Nature Boy” doesn’t think John Cena will break his record.

In an interview with Chris Van Vilet, Flair commended Cena on an excellent career and even though Cena and Flair are tied with 16 world title reigns, Flair believes Cena’s career is at its end with Cena having numerous opportunities to be in movies and on television appearing on the horizon. Flair did say he would be completely okay if Cena did indeed capture his 17th world championship.

“No (I don’t think Cena will break the record)," Flair said. "I think John is kind of winding down (in his career). He’s got so many things going on. I wouldn’t be surprised if he would be a host on Good Morning America or The Today Show. He loves wrestling, but he got so diversified that I don’t think I’ll see him chasing the championship. If he does, I’m all about it.”

Well Cena is chasing the WWE Championship, currently held by Jinder Mahal, and will fight Shinsuke Nakamura in a No. 1 contenders match on SmackDown Live. As far as the rest of his career is concerned, that is to be determined.

Cena has missed time from WWE due to television and movie commitments in recent years and has said on WWE TV that his career is starting to wind down. While Cena is tied with Flair, Triple H and Randy Orton are not far behind, with 14 and 13 world titles, respectively. The interview can be seen in the video above.
