A middleweight division bout has been added to the upcoming UFC 224 card as #2 Ronaldo Souza is going to be in action against #5 Kelvin Gastelum.
Souza (25-5-0-1NC) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, with that last win coming over Derek Brunson at UFC On Fox 27. Souza has only suffered two defeats thus far in UFC competition, with those losses coming to UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero. Souza hasn’t had a bout go the distance in over two years and the Brazilian has won two of his last three by KO/TKO.
Gastelum (14-3-0-1NC) has won just one of his last three UFC bouts, with that lone victory coming over Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night Shanghai. Gastelum returns to a pay-per-view card for the first time since UFC 206, where he defeated Tim Kennedy by third round TKO. Gastelum has only competed once in Brazil, which was a no contest against Vitor Belfort at UFC Fight Night 106.
