Santino Marella Appears On Impact Wrestling Programming

It's been a while since Santino Marella has appeared for a national wrestling company, and his return wasn't exactly celebrated. Instead, he made a cameo speaking to one of his students.

Marella, real name Anthony Carelli appeared on the fourth episode of Impact Wrestling's Global Forged series. The show highlights several up and coming wrestlers in an effort to become the newest addition to the company's roster. Scott D'Amore is heavily featured on the show and evaluates talent.

Carelli is shown speaking to Mike Rollins, a 32-year old independent wrestler from Waterdown, Ontario, Canada. He informs the ten-year pro that he's impressed the right people enough to advance on the show, and will be representing Battle Arts along the way. Steven Wong, Terry Frendo and Marella opened Battle Arts in September 2013, and house MMA and pro wrestling training.

Since his 2014 WWE retirement, Marella appeared on several WWE programs and was ultimately released in May 2016. This summer he teamed with Chavo Guerrero Jr. in his official retirement match, but would also show up on WWE's "Where Are They Now?" in September.
