Exclusive: Sarah Moras Talks Potential Move To 145lbs

Sarah Moras might go to Featherweight if UFC built the division.

The Ultimate Fighter alumnus last appeared in the UFC cage in September at UFC 215. She won that bout and it was her first fight in over two years. In an interview with Fightful's James Lynch, Moras mentioned trying not to get big during long periods between fights. Lynch asked if she had issues with the weight cut to Bantamweight.

"It's always a bit of a struggle. I really want to move up a weight class. It seems they are really not trying to build that division. It'd be nice if they started to," said Moras. "I feel like the more I work out, the more muscle I get, the harder it is to make weight because I'm bigger. Leaner but weight the same or more. So, it's always a struggle for me," she continued.

Moras said she feels strong and fast in training camp. She also mentioned she went to the UFC Performance Institute for a new workout regimen to manage the weight class more.

"It's just amazing going there. You get pampered, you get looked after well and get this information overload. I'm starting to understand a lot of aspects that I wasn't great at before," said Moras. "The strength and conditioning and taking care of my body and nutrition is something I've always had a bit of trouble with."

The UFC Featherweight Division only has four fighters listed on the UFC website. The champion Crstiane "Cyborg" Justino is set to fight the debuting Yana Kunitskaya at UFC 222

In the rest of the interview, Sarah Moras (5-2) discusses her upcoming fight against Lucie Pudilova (7-2) at UFC Fight Night 126 on Feb. 18. Sarah also talks about her win over Ashlee-Evans Smith, her training camp for this fight, and her cat "Tumbles."
