Sasha Banks Says Championship "Hot Potato" Keeps Fans Interested

Sasha Banks says frequent title changes are exciting.

Since the introduction of the WWE Women's Championship at Wrestlemania 32, the title has changed hands seven more times. This included a lengthy feud between Banks and Charlotte Flair. The longest reign was Flair's first which lasted over one hundred days, since then they have been shorter with some lasting only a few weeks. The Women's division was divided due to the 2016 brand split, which necessitated a second championship. The Smackdown Women's Championship was created and as Banks pointed out in her interview with Mirror, that title too has switched hands frequently. But Banks said she is not as alarmed as the fans about it.

"Absolutely. The hot potato on that too, the same goes for SmackDown, that title has already changed three times as well. Fans can complain all they want but they are still watching every week because they want to see what's next, we have them on the edge of their seat and they never know what is coming. That's what's so great about WWE, we are here to entertain you, we are here to make you watch with a mystery eye, like what's going to happen. Even when I show up on Raw I have no idea what is going to happen, they surprise me as well. Raw is the better brand, I was the better champion and when I want to reclaim that championship, I will," said Banks.

Sunday on WWE Fastlane, Banks defeated Nia Jax and Bayley retained her championship against Flair with some help from Banks. She was asked in her interview about the possible matches for the upcoming Wrestlemania 33, including a rumored four-way match with Banks, Flair, Bayley, and Jax. She would express her distaste for Jax and being tired of wrestling Flair.
