Shane McMahon Returns, AJ Styles In Action Next Week On Smackdown

WWE Champion Jinder Mahal challenged WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar for next month's Survivor Series, but he may have his hands full with AJ Styles in the interim. Meanwhile, Shane McMahon is set to return to television next week to confront Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

After making his hearty call-out of the former UFC Champion Lesnar, AJ Styles took exception to Mahal stating that he had no challenges left on Smackdown Live. Styles, who has recently competed in the United States Championship scene, took to the ring and later attacked Mahal.

Backstage, a livid Mahal told WWE Smackdown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan that he wanted to make Styles pay for his actions. Then Mahal volunteered Samir Singh, one of his lackeys, to take on Styles on next week's episode of Smackdown Live.

Singh has never had a singles match on the WWE main roster, and last competed one on one for the company in June 2016 when he lost a first round matchup in the Cruiserweight Classic to now-Raw Superstar Noam Dar. Before becoming Jinder Mahal's managers, Sunil and his brother Samir did find success in tag team wrestling, where they won titles in Global Force Wrestling and Ring Ka King.

Shane McMahon is set to return to Smackdown Live next week after falling off the Hell in a Cell at the titular PPV a couple of weeks ago. After spending most of Smackdown Live being antagonized by Owens and Zayn, Daniel Bryan made it clear to them after they were victorious against Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura that Shane McMahon would confront them next week for their actions.
