Shane McMahon talks Kurt Angle in WWE and a Rematch

The thought of former Olympian and WWE Champion Kurt Angle making a final run in WWE has been a hot topic in among fans and wrestling media since he left TNA for good. Most recently, the topic was brought up with Smackdown Commissioner on the Cheap Heat podcast.

McMahon admitted that though he didn’t know too much about Angle and his health status – the reason he left WWE back in 2006 -- right now, he wouldn’t be against seeing him come back to the company. He even talked about a rematch of their classic King of the Ring 2001 contest.

"I don't know enough about Kurt over the last several years,” McMahon said. “I don't know where his health is or any of those issues. But again, if you rewind the clock and go back to the time we had with Kurt Angle and I at The King Of The Ring. Personally, I'd love to do that again. I'd give that a shot.

“But again, sometimes the business, as we get older, unfortunately, in the business, the brain will say 'go' and the body will say 'no'. And at some point, there's a time you just have to pick a different path."

Rumors have constantly been floating that Angle was going to return to the company to close out his career, though nothing has come of them. That being said, until it’s announced that Angle is hanging up his trunks for good, there’s no doubt that the rumors of the Red, White and Blue Machine’s return to the WWE will continue.
