Shelly Vincent is a professional boxer and she appeared during the Bellator 185 weigh-ins to confront former opponent Heather Hardy.
The female boxing star says she was confronting Hardy to find out why she is supposedly hiding in MMA.
“I said, ‘Are you almost done hiding over here?” Vincent told MMA Fighting. “What eats me up is that we’re advocates for the sport. We’re fighting for women’s equality. We’re fighting for the kids behind us to be brought up the right way, and then you abandon the sport for money and fame? You can’t just quit. That’s showing the wrong example to our youth.”
Hardy and Vincent have collided before in the boxing ring, with Hardy earning a majority decision win in August of 2016. Vincent is willing to face Hardy in the Bellator MMA cage, but Hardy has to give her what she is owed first.
“If she want to fight me in the cage, first she’s got to give me what she f--king owes me,” she said. “And then we’ll do it again, and I’ll knock her clear the f--k out in four-ounce gloves. I’ll put her right to sleep. They gotta come to me first and do me right, then I’ll do this over here if that’s what people want to see.”
At Bellator 185, it was Hardy who was upset by the debut Kristina Williams as the doctor stopped the fight in the second round due to Hardy suffering a broken nose.
