SmackDown Viewership For 8/22 Does Best Number Since Superstar Shake-Up

Last night's episode of SmackDown, the post-Summerslam edition, featuring the debut of former NXT Champion Bobby Roode and a main event US Title match between Kevin Owens and AJ Styles with Baron Corbin as the special guest referee, drew 2.685 million viewers, according to ShowBuzz Daily. This is up about 6% over the 2.530 million viewers that watched last week's show. This is the best viewership number for SmackDown since April 11, which was the finale of the two-night Superstar Shakeup. 

SmackDown came in at #6 for the night in cable viewership, behind Hannity, Rachel Maddow, Special Report, The Five and Tucker Carlson. SmackDown did manage to secure the #1 spot in the highly coveted 18-49 demographic.

In comparison, Monday's RAW drew 3.404 million viewers, 22% more than SmackDown.
