The summer Olympic games have been crushing the competition, per usual. The games have been reaching upwards of 30 million viewers some nights, as the United States has taken a lead in the medal count. Tuesday's showing of the Olympics did an impressive 33.4 million viewers, with ratings over 33 for the male and female 18-49 demographic.

Smackdown did take the lead among 18-49 males, with a 1.02 rating.

This week's episode of Smackdown featured the main roster in-ring debuts of Carmella and Alexa Bliss, and was headlined by Dolph Ziggler & Dean Ambrose taking on The Wyatt Family. Both John Cena and AJ Styles were absent from the show, as they were on WWE's overseas tour of New Zealand
