Sonjay Dutt Gets Guest Trainer Chance With WWE, Reportedly Receiving ROH & TNA Interest

According to recent reports, Sonjay Dutt is a popular guy these days, regarding potential opportunities with major wrestling promotions.

Dutt got the chance to do some guest coaching at the WWE Performance Center, and posted a tweet about the experience on February 5:

Dutt also had a guest gig working as a producer/agent on the NXT live events that week, according to a report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The Observer also reported that Dutt has received recent interest from both Ring Of Honor and TNA. According to the report, ROH approached Dutt about possibly replacing Steve Corino on commentary, Meanwhile, Jarrett approached Dutt about joining the creative team in TNA as that promotion continues its revamp.

Dutt was a regular part of the TNA roster for more than five years before his contract expired in early 2009. He returned to the promotion in 2012 for a series of semi-regular appearances that lasted through 2013, making a one-night return in July of 2015 where he unsuccessfully challenged Tigre Uno for the X Division Title. Dutt also has appeared for ROH, PWG, CHIKARA, and a variety of other independent promotions. Dutt also worked with Jarrett under the Global Force Wrestling banner.

ROH, meanwhile, still is seeking a full-time replacement for Corino as color commentator. The promotion is revamping its commentary team with the departures of both Corino and play-by-play man Kevin Kelly. Ian Riccaboni replaced Kelly as the new ROH lead broadcaster at the latest set of ROH TV tapings.
