Stephanie McMahon On Being Both A Face And A Heel: "It's Called Acting"

It’s hard being the villainous authority figure on television while being one of the public faces of a major company like WWE, but Stephanie McMahon said she has worked out a nice balance.

Stephanie appeared on Uproxx’s “McMahonsplaining” podcast and talked about the fact that she is a heel on television while she is a public figure who works towards female empowerment. Stephanie said it hasn’t been smooth sailing trying to make the heel/face dynamic work, but found a groove and now knows how to work as both a face and a heel.

“It’s called acting. I would like to think that’s not who I am in person, but I wear a bunch of hats. I have my performer hat where I am evil and then I have my business hat and I have my mom hat and that’s just who I am. Actually on social media, I try to be both at the same time when I launched my channels. It didn’t work at all and it was very confusing to everybody and so I am just myself on social media and I am my character when I am on the show,” Stephanie said.

On television, Stephanie takes the role as RAW Commissioner while she is WWE’s Chief Brand Officer. Stephanie has long been a heel on television as one of the central authority figures on RAW while working behind the scenes as one of the biggest advocates for better female representation on WWE programming, which has since then turned into an increase of more main event segments being headlined by women and several firsts for women in WWE, such as a WWE pay-per-view being headlined by women.

The "Billion Dollar Princess" also has been one of the biggest proponents for WWE's Connor's Cure charity that launched a couple of years ago.
