A huge women’s strawweight division fight has been added to UFC On Fox 28 as #2 Jessica Andrade faces #5 Tecia Torres.
The Orlando Sentinel first reported the fight.
Andrade (17-6-0) has won four of her last five under the UFC banner, last defeating Claudia Gadelha by decision at UFC Fight Night Japan. Andrade has previously competed for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title, losing to then champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 211. Andrade also competed as a bantamweight in the UFC, earning a record of 4-3-0 in that division.
Torres (10-1-0) enters the fight on a three bout winning streak, which includes a win over Michelle Waterson at UFC 218. Torres has earned all but one of her professional MMA fights by decision and that lone non-decision win came over Juliana Lima at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale. Torres has only suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas at UFC On Fox 19.
UFC On Fox 28 takes place on Saturday, February 24 from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
