AND HE'S SELF-PROMOTING LIKE CRAZY
ON THE TWITTER
Last Monday night on RAW in a pre-taped segment that you can watch in the video above, Matt Hardy's "Broken" persona fully awakened from its slumber and it was the best thing that has happened in WWE in months.
If you're still not familiar with the WWE veteran's 2016 TNA persona, this is a pretty good primer.
Not featured in that video is the fact that Matt has a giraffe (!) in his personal zoo (!!) that he says contains the spirit of George Washington (!!!!!!!!!!). He also has many other reincarnated luminaries in this exotic menagerie.
He also named his boat Skarsgard. He's a quirky dude.
The character is one of the most uniquely creative ideas in recent wrestling history, and if you doubt his commitment to the gimmick, I invite you to look at Hardy's Twitter Timeline over the past seven days.
I see what you did there.
Bray seemed eager to kick things off.
But because Matt Hardy is Matt Hardy he knows that their spirits have met many times before.
Yeah, I should have mentioned. Hardy calls Bray "Consumer Of Terrestrial Entities." You know. Like the "Eater Of Worlds."
Because that is freaking brilliant.
Look, I've been a Bray Wyatt apologist for years now, but he's bitten off more than he can chew here.
Now let a master show you how it's done, son.
So WWE put out one of those Cathy Kelley-hosted "WWE Now" videos about Hardy's Awakening, which is all well and good, but Cathy made one absolutely UNFORGIVABLE pronunciation error.
It's like, damn Cathy. Don't you watch the product? (By which I mean, TNA from mid-2016?)
You better watch out or you might get DELETED.
And for those of you out there who thought the gimmick would never get over with the casual crowd...
Also, I vote for this fan's idea to immediately be implemented by WWE for real.
Hardy has been the subject of many memes and such this week.
So of course, WWE had to get into the act (and unsurprisingly, in the least creative way possible):
Hardy has also been volunteering to pass along messages and wishlists to Santa Claus. Because of course he has.
Then, just yesterday, a fan sent Matt this Tweet, seeking inspiration at a very trying time.
And of course, Matt knew exactly how to respond.
After midnight last night, Matt showed just how excited he was to get back in front of a crowd.
By the way, almost exactly one year ago TO THE DAY, Hardy invited the then-SmackDown-tag-champs Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton to come to his "Total Nonstop Deletion" event.
Bray was more comfortable brawling on his own turf.
And if you think that little symmetry is lost on Matt Hardy, you'd be wrong.
Guess who else is HERE FOR IT.

Also Xavier Woods.
And Hardy is here for the Day of New to join him in the fight against the darkness.
Unfortunately, as we all learned last month. THERE IS ONLY ONE NIGHT A YEAR WHEN THE SUPERSTARS OF RAW AND SMACKDOWN MEET IN HEAD TO HEAD COMPETITION.
So it looks like Matt might be waiting for a while before he can enlist the help of Woods and company.
