Triple H and The Rock were always two sides to the same coin.
They carried the WWE through the late 90s and early 2000s.
(An argument could be made for Steve Austin, of course, but the injuries really hampered him. A star that shone brighter than the rest but burned out too quickly.)
But where it gets really interesting is that their paths split along the way. Triple H stayed in WWE and helped it grow through the rest of the decade, before stepping away and taking on the business and creative side of the company. He's now arguably the second most powerful figure in the company, behind only its owner.
Meanwhile, the Rock went off to Hollywood for good in 2004 and 13 years later, he's one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood, recognized all over the world as a celebrity outside of WWE.
As the poet once said, two roads diverged in a wood and all that jazz. The Rock left, Triple H stayed, and they both found tremendous success. But even though their journeys have been different, they will forever be inextricably linked due to their battles in the ring.
And according to Triple H, they might go to war one last time.
Speaking on a Facebook Live event while in India (as reported by SportsKeeda), Hunter said he and the Rock have had discussions about The Rock coming back to WWE for one more match against his old foe ... at WrestleMania.
"About two years ago, he and I did a backstage promo with each other where we talked about WrestleMania, and the competitive nature of it and it lit up the internet about the possibility of it. It's something we've discussed. It's just making schedules work, he's pretty busy. I am too. But hey, right place, right time? I'll dance one more time with The Great One, Rock."
Now this is all hypothetical at this juncture, of course, depending on the Rock's schedule opening up. And dude has two Fast and Furious movies on his docket ALONE, not to mention another season of Ballers, and probably seven more movies to do in there somewhere, so it's not looking likely until at least 2025. But maybe he could clear a month in there somewhere, maybe March 2019, so he could do a three week build of RAWs leading up to WrestleMania 35.
Maybe?
One thing's for sure. The Game vs The Great One would make for a hell of a WrestleMania moment.
