Tyron Woodley Talks Conor McGregor Beef

MMA

Tyron Woodley is a part of the biggest MMA show of all time in UFC 205, but he found himself the target of main eventer Conor McGregor at the UFC 205 pre-fight presser.

Woodley spoke to MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani about the situation, including Conor McGregor seeming to size him up after weigh-ins Friday.

UFC 300 Weigh Ins

"I had already weighed-in so I went to grab some water, so I had to go around him to get some water. So I said, 'hey what's up man?' I walked past him but he kind of had a mug. So I turned back and said, 'I said what's up.' He turned around and said, (mean mugging) 'what's up.' I don't know what people saw on the video but I'm not that guy. This is fighting, but there are other layers," Woodley told Ariel Helwani.

Woodley elaborated on the situation, talking about his decision to film Conor McGregor going wild at the UFC 205 pre-fight press conference. Woodley filmed the incident and posted it, saying that's how people act when they know they'll be held back. This led to a tweet where Conor McGregor called Woodley a 'Twitter bitch.'

"You can't call me a bitch. That's like a slap in the face or spit in the face where I'm from. That's something you don't cross the line with with me. I just want to be clear, because some people had a misconception of what went on there. It was really nothing. He called a Twitter handle that, he didn't call me anything. I don't need the boost to fight. Don't do it if you don't want to be video'd." said Woodley. "I walk around at 205. You fought at featherweight. I haven't seen 145 since high school. I think he though it was an opportunity to get a little internet buzz. He has this big mystique about him, he has to outdo himself every time."

Woodley defends his UFC Welterweight Championship Saturday at UFC 205 from New York, New York. McGregor will look to gain the UFC Lightweight Championship from Eddie Alvarez.
