UFC 214 PPV Early Buyrate Estimates

This past July, the UFC presented the loaded UFC 214 card, which was headlined by a trio of title bouts in the featured spots.

Early estimates of the buyrate for the pay-per-view show are in, and an estimated total of 860,000 fans purchased the show.

The five fight pay-per-view card saw Jon Jones defeat Daniel Cormier to win the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, Tyron Woodley defeat Damian Maia by unanimous decision to retain the UFC Welterweight Title, Cyborg defeat Tonya Evinger to win the UFC Women’s Featherweight Title, Robbie Lawler defeat Donald Cerroen by decision and Volkan Oezdemir defeat Jimi Manuwa by knockout.

The show did better than the initial pay-per-view that featured Jones and Cormier in the main event, because UFC 182 only drew 800,000 pay-per-view purchases.

UFC 214 was also the first card since UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden to feature three title fights.

It will not be until September that the UFC is returning to pay-per-view with UFC 215, which features two title fights in the main events. Those two title fights will see flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson face Ray Borg and women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes face Valentina Shevchenko.
