UFC Fighter Apologizes For Racist Taunting At UFC 202

Mike Perry had a successful UFC debut at last Saturday's UFC 202 when he scored a second-round knockout over Hyun Gyu Lim.

Last Friday at the weigh-ins, Perry caused a stir when he did a fake handshake to Lim.

Then on the UFC.TV broadcast of UFC 202, during the pre-fight introductions for both fighters, a voice can be heard from Perry's corner clearly saying of Lim, "He can't even open his motherf**king eyes."

The voice was UFC middleweight fighter Alex Nicholson. On his Twitter page, Nicholson admitted he was the one who made the comment and apologized for his actions.

I respect every man who steps in the cage and my comments were insensitive towards lim I was hype for my brother but It's all love no hate.

As of this writing, the UFC has taken no punishment on the matter.

Nicholson is 1-1 in the UFC. He made his debut at light heavyweight in February at UFC Fight Night 82, losing to Misha Cirkunov by second round submission. "The Spartan" rebounded last month at UFC Fight Night 91, defeating Devin Clark by first round knockout.

Nicholson currently doesn't have a fight scheduled.

Perry won't be getting too much time off as it was announced on Friday, he will be facing Danny Roberts at UFC 204 on Oct. 8 in Manchester, England. The card is headlined by a rematch between middleweight champion Michael Bisping defending his title for the first time against former PRIDE two-division champion and former Strikeforce light heavyweight champ, Dan Henderson.
