UFC Signs Former Bellator Heavyweight Champion

A 2015 Bellator release is the newest UFC talent.

The UFC have signed former Bellator Heavyweight Champion Alexander Volkov (26-6) and will see his debut against Timothy Johnson (10-2) at UFC Fight Night 99 on November 19, according to MMA Junkie

Volkov captured the Bellator title after winning a 2012 heavyweight title tournament. Volkov would lose the title to Vitaly Minakov, and follow up with a 5-2 record in Bellator. The company released him after back-to-back 2015 losses to Tony Johnson and Cheick Kongo.

The 27-year old Volkov most recently competed for M-1 Challenge, earning two victories this years. His last opponent, Atilla Vegh, was also a former Bellator Champion in the company's Light Heavyweight divsion.

UFC Fight Night 99 takes place November 19 from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
