Kiera Hogan Details TNA Return, Says TNA Reached Out To Her

Kiera Hogan made her return to TNA Wrestling at TNA Lockdown as the surprise partner for Allie. She immediately became one-half of the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions as Rosemary & Allie held the titles, but Rosemary is sidelined with injury.

Speaking to Denise Salcedo on Busted Open Radio, Kiera discussed her return to TNA.

“I feel like I’m home. TNA has always had my heart, no matter how far I went. I feel like it was always there for me, no matter what. They truly came together and made it into a full circle moment, me coming back to TNA and winning gold. I’ve been on cloud nine since Lockdown and haven’t come down. After being away from wrestling for so long, I had four matches in my first week,” she said.

Asked how much training she was doing when she learned of her return, she replied, “It was something I was doing off to the side here and there. Being gone for so long was very hard. I had a lot of thoughts in my mind if I could even return to wrestling or if I could still do it. Watching from afar was something that was foreign to me. This was my first major injury. I had to get surgery on my shoulder. Being away from wrestling for so long was honestly pretty sad because it’s been part of my life for a little more than eleven years. It’s all I’ve really had and it’s provided me so much happiness, joy, a creative outlet. It was taken away from me by force and I never thought in a million years that an injury would take me out, but you have to give it to the game. It’s part of being a wrestler and in a contact sport. When I was cleared about seven months after my surgery, I got back in the ring and went to my trainer, Mr. Hughes in Atlanta. The first time I got back in the ring, he work me for two and a half hours. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t know if I can do this.’ I kept pushing and pushing. Lo and behold, TNA gave me a ring [phone call] and was like, ‘Hey, you want to come back?'”

Kiera suffered a dislocated shoulder during a fight on the reality show Joseline’s Cabaret California.

Asked if she expected TNA to reach out to her, she replied, “Absolutely not. I was just happy to be getting back to wrestling. I booked my first indie show before TNA even called me. ‘I’m taking my first indie show a week after Lockdown. I’m ready to go. I’m training and preparing.’ It kicked off the preparation. I felt like I was slowly getting back into it but this ignited me.”
