WWE Battleground takes place later this month, and now has a United States Championship match set.
United States Champion Kevin Owens will defend his title against AJ Styles. Styles won a top contender Independence Day battle royal on Tuesday night's episode of Smackdown Live in order to gain the opportunity. He also defeated Chad Gable to get into the match.
Owens won the United States title at WrestleMania 33, when he defeated his former tag team partner Chris Jericho. He'd hold is for a month, before trading the championship back and forth with Jericho at WWE Payback, as well as the following Smackdown Live.
WWE Battleground takes place July 23 from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
