Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title challenger Valentina Shevchenko returns to action at UFC Fight Night Belem and her opponent is Priscila Cachoeira.

Shevchenko isn’t too fond of fellow flyweight Paige VanZant and she recently appeared on The MMA Hour to explain the dislike of the fighter.

“You have to respond for your work,” Shevchenko said. “It’s not only that you can put whatever you want. No, you have to respond for it. If you’re saying, ‘I will fight for the title,’ explain why. Explain why and then show the people you deserve it. This is my reason. It’s not just throwing words in the wind like nothing.”

VanZant recently claimed that her next fight would be for the UFC Women’s Flyweight Title, which the UFC quickly shot down.

The female fighting star also claims that VanZant was offered a fight against her, but turned the bout down.

“Now she will say whatever she wants (about never being offered a fight with Shevchenko), but it doesn’t matter for me,” Shevchenko said. “I never think about opponents in front of me for the title.”

UFC Fight Night Belem takes place on Saturday, February 3 from the Manguerinho Gymnasium in Belem, Brazil with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
