Vince Russo: Vince McMahon Offered To Do Major Stunts Before Shows To Prove Their Safety

Vince McMahon is not the typical wrestling promoter. Wrestling promoters don't offer to replicate some of the most insane stunts done during the Attitude Era, but McMahon did as revealed by Vince Russo.

Russo was a guest on "The List & Ya Boy" and talked about how McMahon would offer to do big stunts that were planned to be on the show just to prove that the wrestlers performing them, later on, would not get seriously hurt.

"A lot of times when we would do these crazy stunts, Vince McMahon would volunteer to try it first, bro, because he wanted to make sure it was safe no one got hurt. Remember that zipline Shawn Michaels used at [WrestleMania 12]? Vince did that during the day. Remember when the (New Age) Outlaws threw Mick Foley and Terry Funk off the stage in a dumpster? Vince wanted to do that. Vince was demanding it and we shut him down to protect him. So much time and planning went into something that was supposed to be a stunt. People were brought to make sure it was safe and everybody was well protected," Russo said.

"The List & Ya Boy" with Fightful managing editor Sean Ross Sapp and Fightful owner Jimmy Van is live every Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET. Russo's comments can be seen in the video above.
