Vitor Belfort So Totally Isn't Retired After Controversial Win

Vitor Belfort's words following his UFC 212 fight will be remembered much more than the fight itself.

In his home country of Brazil, Belfort took home 29-28 scorecards across the board. The cards were a bit controversial, as has been tradition in the country. What seemed sure to be a Nate Marquardt victory, instead went the other way.

Round Three: The round begins with Belfort popping Marquardt with a left, Marquardt goes back to attacking Belfort with leg kicks. Marquardt dances around Belfort while peppering him with jabs, Marquardt also attacks Belfort with a variety of kicks. Marquardt then exchange some kicks to the midsection with Belfort, Marquardt then catches a swinging Belfort with a counter left hook. Belfort does his best to swarm Marquardt with striking combinations, Belfort rocks Marquardt with a head kick that is blocked. Belfort then cracks Marquardt with a trio of right hooks, Belfort cracks Marquardt with a head kick that barely lands. Marquardt attacks Belfort with a jumping knee strike as the round ends.

Official Result: #11 Vitor Belfort def. Nate Marquardt by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Following the bout, Belfort backpedaled on his retirement talk, instead saying he's promised coach Firas Zahabi five more fights.
